Brookstone, Inc. reported holiday direct to customer sales of $25.9 million, up 8.6% despite a planned reduction in circulation. Same-store retail sales rose 7.8% during the same time frame.
During the two months ending Jan. 4, the Nashua, NH-based retailer generated $167.5 million, up 8.7% from the same period a year ago.
For the year to date, Brookstone’s same store sales were up 3.3%, while revenue within the direct to consumer segment was up 3.1% to $61.4 million. Year-to-date company sales rose 6.2%, to $358.2 million.
"These sales results were achieved without promotional activity, resulting in not only higher sales but also higher gross margins," Michael Anthony, the company’s chairman and CEO said in a statement.
