Bloomingdale's By Mail and bloomingdales.com will be merged under the Bloomingdale's Direct umbrella. Franz Weiglein has been named president.
Weiglein, 40, joins Federated after 10 years with Lands' End Inc., where he most recently was vice president and general merchandise manager of the men's division.
The merger is scheduled for completion by fall. A similar restructuring of Macy's By Mail and macys.com has been completed by Federated Direct, which oversees the Bloomingdale's and Macy's online and catalog operations, and Fingerhut Companies Inc.
