AOL LLC has acquired broadband video advertising firm Lightingcast Inc. of Washington DC. The deal closed on May 17. Terms were not disclosed. Lightningcast had been privately owned.
Lightningcast will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Advertising.com of Baltimore. Advertising.com is a subsidiary of AOL. Lightningcast will remain in Washington DC. CEO Tom MacIsaac, and the company’s 34 employees, will remain with the firm.
Lightningcast delivers streaming video media – including advertising – to broadband-connection Internet users.
