Amazon.com, Seattle, and Audible Inc., Wayne, NJ, have signed an agreement to feature content and services from www.audible.com over Amazon.com. Audible provides Internet-delivers spoken word audio for a variety of digital audio devices from such newspapers as The Wall Street Journal, such radio programs as Car Talk, and such best-seller authors as John Grisham, among other sources.
Terms were not disclosed. The alliance is expected to give Amazon's 16 million plus customers access to over 20,000 hours of digital audio content. Some of Audibleas other business partners include Compaq Computer Corp., Microsoft, and RealNetworks.
