Acxiom Corp., Little Rock, AR, made a proposal to acquire parts of the Consodata companies from Seat P.G., a directory firm based in Turin, Italy. The transaction would give Acxiom the operations based on England, France, Spain and Germany. Consodata would retain ownership of the units based in Italy and the United States.
Seat has granted Acxiom exclusivity regarding the proposed transaction, and will submit it to the Works Council of Consodata S.A., the company’s labor representatives. Under the terms of the proposed transaction, Acxiom would pay roughly $37.5 million for the companies.
Consodata operates consumer lifestyle databases, and would add to Acxiom’s expansion efforts within Europe. In January, Acxiom purchased the Claritas European operations, which are based in England, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Portugal and Poland.
If the transaction goes through. Consodata’s offerings would be re-branded with the Acxiom name.
