PC Connection Inc., Merrimack, NH, reported $349.4 million in third-quarter sales, up from $341 in third-quarter 2002.
The company’s net income for the quarter was $2.2 million, unchanged from a year ago. In third quarter 2002, however, PC Connection recorded $400,000 in charges related to workforce reductions. The quarter ended Sept. 30.
Sales for the company’s small and medium-sized business segment rose 2.9% from third quarter 2002, to $179.6 million. Its government and education customer revenue grew 7.6% from lat year, to $103.6. Sales to large corporate accounts dipped 5.7%, to $66.3 million.
During the year, notebooks and personal digital assistants showed the largest growth, jumping from 17% to 21% of the company’s sales. Conversely, software sales trailed off from 16% of the total product mix to just under 11%.
PC Connection sells a variety of information technology through its Web sites, catalogs and sales force.
