The year-long patent dispute between 24/7 Real Media Inc. and ValueClick Inc. has been settled, 24/7 announced today.
ValueClick Inc. and its Mediaplex subsidiary will license 24/7 Real Media’s server technology for payment. The firms declined to reveal other details of the settlement.
24/7 Real Media filed suit last February, alleging that ValueClick and Mediaplex sold systems patented by 24/7 in 1995 for providing targeted advertising. The case was on file with the U.S. District Court for the Southern district of New York.
The technology is described in the patent filing as an "online interactive system and method for providing content and advertising information to a targeted set of viewers."
Last June, 24/7 Real Media settled a similar lawsuit with Advertising.com.
