Jingwei, a data mining and customer relationship services firm based in China, generated $8.8 million in revenue during third-quarter 2009, up from the $8.6 million it pulled in during third-quarter 2008. But margin for both the company’s data mining and software services fell, and its net income dropped from $1.9 million to $1.5 million during the same period.
The quarter ended Sept. 30.
Revenue for Jingwei’s data mining offerings dropped from just under $6 million a year ago to $5.5 million, while its software services, which include operations analysis and billing capabilities, rose from $2.6 million to $3.3 million during the same period.
Jingwei attributed its revenue growth to a combination of third-generation technology within the telecom sector, as well as an increase in its China-based subscriber base.
