E-mail service provider Responsys yesterday unveiled a new version of its technology.

Dubbed Responsys Interact 5.6, the technology offers “out-of-the-box” support for Goodmail’s CertifiedEmail program, the scheme under which marketers can pay a fraction of a cent per e-mail to have it guaranteed delivered to AOL addresses with graphics and links intact.

The new technology also features automated data exchange with Salesforce.com, according to Responsys. The new technology can also be more easily integrated with marketers’ Web sites, data warehouses and CRM systems, according to Responsys. Forty eight percent of companies with revenue over $50 million in a recent survey by Jupiter Research cited lack of integrated customer data as the No. 1 challenge to their outbound e-mail marketing efforts.

“Responsys Interact 5.6 allows marketers to seamlessly integrate customer data—from anywhere in the enterprise—into their campaigns to drive highly sophisticated, targeted, and relevant marketing programs,” said Scott Olrich, chief marketing officer at Responsys, in a statement.

Responsys also enhanced its spam-complaint processing to accept feedback from Internet service providers using the so-called Abuse Reporting Format, such as AOL and Road Runner, and soon, Hotmail and Yahoo!.
