Loren McDonald has left his position as head of communications for Lyris to take a job at e-mail service provider Silverpop.
Beginning this week, McDonald is vice president of industry relations for Silverpop.
McDonald has 24 years of experience in marketing, consulting and strategic planning. Previously, he was vice president of corporate communications at Lyris, Inc., and was as vice president of marketing at EmailLabs.
Though Silverpop is in Atlanta, McDonald will remain in Northern California. He will report to Elaine O’Gorman, Silverpop’s vice president of strategy.
Silverpop hired McDonald so O’Gorman and CEO Bill Nussey could spend more of their time focusing on internal issues.
“I’ll be doing what I did a few years ago at EmailLabs, which is helping build and broaden the brand” though writing articles, doing conference speaking engagements, conducting Webinars, and other activities, he said.
McDonald is also a columnist for MediaPost’s EmailInsider newsletter.
