The Postal Regulatory Commission Thursday confirmed the U.S. Postal Service’s price increases for competitive products and maintained they were within the bounds of the law.
Domestically, these rates affect express mail, priority mail, parcel select and parcel return service. In the international arena, they apply to global express guaranteed, express mail international, priority mail international and international direct sacks—M-Bags.
In the U.S., the rates for express mail will rise 5.7%; for priority mail 3.9%; for parcel select, 5.9%; for parcel return service 5.3%;
Internationally, the rates for global express guaranteed will increase 11.2%; for express mail international 8.6%; for priority mail international 8.5% and for international direct sacks (M-bags) 8%.
The rates take effect on Jan. 18.
