The Direct Marketing Association (DMA) has unveiled its Certified Marketing Professional program. While the program is open to all, individuals from DMA member companies will receive additional benefits throughout their course of study, beginning with special member pricing.
The certification program is available both online and in person, and offers education in a variety of foundation areas and aspect of direct marketing. Additionally, certain sessions at the DMA’s annual conference in San Diego will count toward certification credits.
Individuals studying to become a DMA Certified Marketing Professional receive a special six-month subscription to the Library of ECHO Awards Case Studies, a Web-based subscription plan allowing viewers to review marketing strategies and media selections and tactics, click around creatives, as well as see award winning results from past DMA International ECHO Awards winners.
The program will be launched in English and Japanese. The DMA is investigating partnerships which will allow it to offer the program in Spain; Saudi Arabia; Egypt; Dubai; Brazil; Argentina; South Africa; Hong Kong; Singapore; and China.
Ron Jacobs, who wrote the textbook Successful Direct Marketing Methods, helped develop the course. Jacobs is president of Jacobs & Clevenger, a multichannel direct marketing agency.
