Covad, CompUSA Offer Broadband Service

Covad Communications Group and CompUSA have teamed up to offer Covad’s business-class broadband services in 168 CompUSA stores nationwide.

CompUSA will begin selling Covad broadband access services in mid-February, including shared-line DSL (suitable for a small or home office) and full T-1 connections.

Covad also will run the Digital Services demonstration kiosks, which showcase voice and data products, in those 168 CompUSA stores. Tech departments in 112 of the stores are staffed by sales reps who can help customers figure out their technology needs. A 10-market tour will teach CompUSA staffers about Covad’s data and voice services.

Shoppers also can access Covad service at CompUSA.com and CompUSAbusiness.com.

“Placement of Covad’s business-class broadband services in selected business-focused retail locations represents an important addition to Covad’s distribution channel strategy. Partnering with CompUSA will extend our reach into the key small business market,” said Covad president-CEO Charles Hoffman in a statement.
