TPN has launched a new unit focused on developing marketing programs for retail brands based on consumer insights.
Bobbi Merkel has been named director of convergence, a new post. She will lead the unit and report to Sharon Love, chief executive officer.
Merkel will be responsible for serving as “matchmaker” between brands and consumers, developing customized programming delivered through a mix of media, the company said. The post took effect Oct. 15.
Most recently, Merkel lead strategic initiatives for 7-Eleven and is credited with striking the deal with 20th Century Fox a month-long in-store and online promotion tied to "The Simpsons Movie." Prior to that she had been the director of strategic initiatives for TracyLocke in Dallas, TX.
TPN roster of clients includes PepsiCo, ESPN, 7-Eleven, The Hershey Co., Wal-Mart, The Campbell Soup Co., AT&T, Bank of America and Orbitz.
