Modem Media has tapped Brian Powley as executive VP-managing director of its San Francisco office, Modem Media West.
Powley, who joins the Digitas-owned shop in the new post on Jan. 3, 2006, had been managing director-West at McCann Worldgroup's CRM shop MRM Worldwide.
Powley will oversee business operations, client relationships and new-business strategy for the region, and will collaborate with Modem Media's managing directors and "capability leads" staffers to integrate services globally. Powley will report to Modem Media President Martin Reidy. Norwalk, CT-based Modem Media in recent months has hired several "global capability leads" to service Modem Media account teams with Media, Search Engine Marketing, Strategy and Enablement, Quality Assurance, and Technology.

Earlier this month, Modem Media opened a New York City office to service its Media business, which has quadrupled in the last three years. The Manhattan office services the agency's New York-based media clients.
