Zatarain’s, a New Orleans food company, has named Alcone Marketing Group as its agency of record for its line of New Orleans style foods.
The work will begin with an integrated campaign supporting Mardi Gras in 2009 that includes TV, coupons, retail events, sampling, online and public relations.
Zatarain’s, founded in 1889, makes more than 200 food products based around authentic Louisiana style cuisine such as Jambalaya Mix, Shrimp & Crab Boil, Hush Puppy Mix and Blackened Seasoning.
The work will be handled out of the Alcone Chicago office, Bill Hahn, the president and CEO of Alcone Marketing Group said.
“Zatarain’s heritage and link to New Orleans and its rich history provides us with a phenomenal story to share with consumers” he said.
The agency has not worked specifically for Zatarain’s in the past, but has done work for Zatarain’s parent company, spice giant McCormick, Hahn said.
Alcone is part of Omnicom Group Inc. Its roster of clients includes Pernod Ricard USA, Cadbury Adams, LG, Unilever, J&J, Hasbro, California Lottery and Masterfoods.
