Verizon Wireless won permanent injunctions on Friday to stop two telemarketing firms from making unsolicited sales calls to mobile phone customers.
The decisions, handed down by superior Courts in New Jersey and California, bar the firms, Intelligent Alternatives of San Diego, CA, and Resort Marketing Trends of Coral Springs, FL, from making calls to Verizon Wireless customers by using auto-dialers and recorded messages. Federal consumer protection laws prohibit the use of auto-dilaers and recorded message in calls to cell phones.
The injunctions were entered after courts in New Jersey and California, where most of the calls were made, approved settlements between Verizon and the telemarketers. Verizon brought the lawsuits August 31 after what the carrier says were
