The U.S. Postal Service said on its Web site (www.usps.com) Wednesday that it plans to propose extending its Move Update addressing quality requirement from first class mail to standard mail. The USPS also seeks to reduce the time it allows mailers to make these changes from 185 days to 95 days before a mailing goes out.
At present, Move Update rules allow first class mailers that update their addresses through NCOALink and other USPS products to get automation and other postal discounts.
The USPS said it would publish this notice in the Federal Register early next week.
