TRW Inc. has been selected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop and support information systems that aid CDC public health research, surveillance and intervention efforts in a contract worth for a $511 million.
The contract took effect Sept. 1 and lasts for seven years.
TRW Systems has worked with the CDC since 1996, designing, testing and installing scientific and administrative systems. It also provides database and infrastructure support.
Under the new contract TRW will analyze information requirements for existing and upcoming public health efforts, and train users in both CDC developed and commercial software programs.
