Ticketmaster is hoping to get a slice of the $24.81 billion expected in gift card sales this holiday season with the debut of its first gift card.
The gift cards can be purchased online at Ticketmster.com/giftcards and redeemed for tickets to sports and entertainment events. Card denominations range from $25 to $250 and have no expiration date. Multiple gift cards can be used toward a single purchase. Card designs reflect a variety of popular sports teams and events.
The offer will be promoted via the online channels of IAC/InterActiveCorp (Ticketmaster’s parent company), as well as at Gifts.com and Ask.com.
The introduction of the gift cards is expected to help spur Ticketmaster’s $6 billion in sales last year on behalf of its 119 million clients. The company is headquartered in West Hollywood, CA.
Consumers will fork out more for gift cards this year, spending on average $116.51, up from $88.03 in 2005, according to the National Retail Federation.
