The Federal Trade Commission has sued Steve Garvey, former first baseman for the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres, and his management company, Garvey Management Inc., for allegedly making false and misleading statements in an infomercial for Enforma System, a weight-loss program. The suit, on file in the U.S. District Court, Los Angeles, also names the infomercial’s producer, Modern Interactive Technology Inc., and its two principals, Mark Levine and David Richmond. Garvey, Levine and Richmond could not be reached for comment.
