Spiegel Asks Court for Delay in Filing Restructuring Plan

Spiegel Inc. has requested a three-month extension of its deadline for filing a restructuring plan.

The catalog/retailer asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York for the delay, stating that I still had to review its holiday results, according to Associated Press.

Spiegel filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last year. It cited assets of $2.7 billion and liabilities of $1.7 billion (Direct Newsline, march 17, 2003).
