Gardening cataloger/retailer Smith & Hawken reported 36% overall sales growth for August 2003, compared to August 2002.
The company also posted a 49% increase in Web sales over last year to date.
Smith & Hawken has 53 retail outlets. The Novato, CA-based company has opened seven new retail stores in the past year. Three more are slated to open before the end of 2003, and an additional eight are planned for 2004.
