Nintendo of America has inked a deal with Six Flags for its Wii to be the official gaming console of the theme park.
Under the agreement, Six Flags will offer complimentary Wii gaming stations in most of its U.S.-branded theme parks. Signage will also support the relationship. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Six Flags and Nintendo will also work together on marketing initiatives, including a sweepstakes to debut this year on Nintendo.com. Further details were unavailable.
The partnership helps boost Nintendo’s marketing strategy to make the Wii a family-oriented gaming device.
“This agreement with Nintendo enables us to partner with a company, and a product, that has major relevance in the lives of today’s families,” said Mark Shapiro, Six Flags president and CEO, in a statement.
Nintendo is one of several top brands Six Flags has formed alliances with, including Cold Stone Creamery, Heinz and Kodak (PROMO Xtra, Dec. 13, 2006).
