Kenneth C. Weaver has been tapped by Postmaster General William J. Henderson as the next chief of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. He succeeds Kenneth J. Hunter, who resigned on Sept. 1 after seven years in the post. Weaver, who most recently served on the staff of the postal service’s Board of Governors, has been with the postal inspection service since 1971, rising to the position of deputy chief inspector for audits in 1973.

DraftDirect has hired three new account directors: Steven Saura and Thyra DeCicco in Chicago; and Jennifer Unangst in Westport, CT. Saura had been with the Integer Group, Denver; DeCicco, with Targetcom Inc., Chicago; and Unangst, a freelance consultant.

Directech Inc., Lexington, MA, has changed its name to Directech | eMerge. Management changes at the direct marketing agency include: Barry Silverstein, formerly president, is now CEO. Peter Evans, formerly COO, is now president.

School Specialty Inc. (http://www.classroomdirect.com) an Appleton. WI-based non-textbook education products supplier has signed Web affiliation agreements with FamilyEducation.com, and zap! Corp. to provide schools with supplies for K-12 classrooms, as well as free satellite-based Internet access and computers for school labs and libraries.

ShoppingList.com, an Internet site geared to helping consumers find sales in stores, has teamed up with cooperative mailer Val-Pak Coupons to give ShoppingList.com users a single site where they reportedly can find the best advertised values–as well as coupons–for goods and services offered by local merchants.
