Sesame Workshop Promotes Westin, Regan

Sesame Workshop, the non-profit, educational organization of Sesame Street, has promoted Sherrie Rollins Westin to executive VP/CMO and Maura Regan to VP and general manager of global licensing. The promotions went into effect on July 1.

In her newly created position, Westin is in charge of increasing revenue through licensing, corporate sponsorship and philanthropic development, and provides consistent messaging and marketing to promote the workshop. Westin previously worked as executive VP-corporate affairs, education and development where she oversaw the workshop’s strategic position and its various properties.

Westin joined the workshop in 1998 from the ABC Television Network, where she served as executive VP-network communications. She reports to COO Melvin Ming.

Regan, who reports to Westin, oversees the workshop’s global retail business across licensed goods categories, including toys, apparel, home furnishings, stationery and gifts.

Her division funds the charitable work of the organization, which helps kids reach their highest potential. She replaced Liz Kalodner, who left the position in June.

Regan recently worked as VP-international licensing and new business development for Sesame Street and Dragon Tales, and helped developed the workshop’s theme park initiatives. As part of her job, Regan will continue to expand existing licensing activities and develop new business initiatives for China and Japan.

“These highly skilled executives will ensure the creation of products that extend the learning and benefits of every Sesame Workshop media property,” said President-CEO Gary Knell in a statement.
