Seinfeld and Superman Land on TBS

This week, Turner Broadcasting System is putting a new twist on American Express’ Webisode starring Jerry Seinfeld and Superman.

The first four-minute Webisode launched in May and had previously been shown in its entirety on NBC after the Friends finale and on the American Express Web site. Though ads for the Webisode have been shown on other networks, this is the first time that the Webisode will be shown on a network in its entirety for consecutive nights throughout the week. This is also the first time that a sneak preview of the second Webisode will be shown on television.

The Webisodes begin airing in support of the network’s new “very funny” branding initiative, which debuted earlier this month. The branding campaign targets comedy lovers and includes a new look, logo and tagline, highlighted by hit comedy programming.

The first Webisode, A Uniform Used to Mean Something, airs this week, immediately following Sex and the City. TBS will also feature on-air billboards and on-air bugs during the show, encouraging viewers to stay tuned to see Seinfeld and Superman in their latest adventure.

In addition, TBS will air a sneak preview of the second Webisode, entitled Hindsight is 20/20, the week of June 20. The preview will direct viewers to the Am Ex Web site www.americanexpress.com/jerry where they can watch the four-minute Webisode in its entirety, view the first Webisode and behind-the-scenes clips and interviews. The sneak preview will air during Sex and the City and in the network’s prime-time schedule.
