Kimberly-Clark has gone national with a contest for Scott toilet paper that ran earlier this year for its online loyalty club members.
The Scott Common Sense Pass it On contest asks consumers to submit an essay or video sharing the best common-sense advice they ever got from their mom. One winner will get $25,000.
The contest spotlights “Dancing with the Stars” star Mario Lopez and his own mom, Elvia. In fact, the two were part of the grand-prize package in the contest’s first iteration: Fifteen loyalty club members won a trip to New York—with their moms—to have brunch on Mother’s Day with Elvia and George Lopez. The mother-and-son team kicked off the national version of the contest the next day.
Entrants visit ScottCommonSense.com to submit a 250-word essay or a “mom-umentary” video, through July 31. Judges will pick five semi-finalists to post on the site for consumers to vote. That voting runs from Sept. 10 through Sept. 17. The top winner gets $25,000. The rest of the finalists each get $1,000 and a year’s supply of Scott.
Scott has nearly 500,000 active members in its online loyalty club.
