Signaling that consumers want to know more about what they’re eating at restaurants, Ruby Tuesday plans to provide nutritional information on its main menu, reportedly a first for a national restaurant chain.
For all menu items, including appetizers, entrees and desserts, the company will provide total calories, total grams of fat, net grams of carbohydrates and total grams of dietary fiber.
The information will be available throughout the chain’s 700 restaurants beginning in late April. The program has been in test markets since February.
Additionally, a Smart Eating Guide supplement to the company’s main menu, featuring information about healthy eating will be located on each table. Nutritional data along with other wellness information will be available on www.rubytuesday.com in May.
