Right Guard Plays Prime Role in “Celebrity Apprentice”

Right Guard’s Fast Break antiperspirants will be the focal point of an episode of “The Celebrity Apprentice” this season, with the aspiring celeb execs charged with a creating a marketing project for the products.

Contestants will be working to create an advertorial magazine spread about the product featuring New York Knicks’ star David Lee in the April 26 episode. That show features Donald Trump as the contestants’ judge with his children, Ivanka and Don Jr.

The Fast Break line, including solids and gels, is the first product launch since Right Guard struck a partnership deal with the National Basketball Association last June.

Among the 16 contestants on the eighth season are sports celebrities Dennis Rodman and Herschel Walker, comedians Joan Rivers and Andrew Dice Clay, country music star Clint Black, and reality show celebrity Khloe Kardashian.

“We look forward to seeing the innovative marketing and promotional ideas the contestants develop for our most advanced product line to date, ” said Doug Weekes, Right Guard senior vice president and general manager, in a statement.

Henkel, Right Guard’s parent company, has struck two prior product integration deals with “Celebrity Apprentice, ” for Dial’s Yogurt Body Wash during last year’s series and Soft Scrub Deep Clan Foaming Cleanser in 2007.

It also integrated Renuzit Super Odor Neutralizer in “The Apprentice,” the original version of the reality series, in 2007.
