A former postal worker may have been looking for revenge when he stabbed four of his co-workers at a mail facility, before police shot and killed him, according to news reports.
The man, whose name was not released, had been a temporary worker at the bulk transfer facility in Kearny, NJ. He quit in March, following a personnel dispute, the reports said.
The man entered the building Tuesday evening armed with a handgun and two knives. A worker called out to him to stop, then dialed 911. The attacker went after the four, who suffered minor stab wounds and cuts.
Police found him in a locker room, where an office instructed him to drop his weapons. When he did not, the police shot him. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man reportedly had a dispute with a female co-worker before he left the job. That woman was not in the building during the attack.
