Regal Entertainment Group is offering movie buffs a chance to rub shoulders with film stars at the Oscars.
The movie exhibitor is running a contest among its Regal Crown Club members to give one of those avid film theater visitors a trip to Hollywood. The grand prize is an expenses-paid excursion for two to the 81st Academy Awards ceremony in 2009.
Moviegoers can sign up now to enter the sweepstakes or use their existing Royal Crown Club cards when buying tickets for any of 2007 Academy Award nominated films for Best Picture, Directing, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Documentary Feature, Song, Original Screenplay and Adapted Screenplay. Entries are accepted through March 6.
Those entering the sweepstakes will receive five extra credits for each ticket purchased to a film nominated for Best Picture or Best Director. Points accumulated can be used for free popcorn, soft drinks and movie tickets.
“We are excited to be able to increase interest in Oscar nominated films while also rewarding a lucky moviegoer,” said Dick Westerling, vice president of marketing for Regal Entertainment Group, in a statement.
