Reebok Names New CMO

Reebok International has named Matt O’Toole as the company’s chief marketing officer, effective April 1.

In his new role, O’Toole, 45, will lead global marketing, which includes product and design, brand marketing, sports marketing and PR. In addition, he will continue to direct the Reebok-CCM Hockey business, formerly known as The Hockey Co.

O’Toole replaces Uli Becker, who took on the role of president and CEO for Reebok, last month (Promo Xtra, March 6).Previously, O’Toole was president of Reebok North America.

In other news, Reebok named Jim Gabel to replace O’Toole. In that role, Gabel will be responsible for all of the region’s brand operations, including marketing, product merchandising, sales, finance, operations and owned retail stores. He begins his position in mid April and will be relocating from Mississauga, Canada to Canton, MA.

Prior to his new appointment, Gabel was senior vice president of adidas America where he was responsible for all brand operations for adidas and TaylorMade–adidas Golf Canada and for directing the brand’s two largest key accounts in the U.S.
