Quebecor World Inc. reported net income of $36 million for the first quarter, up from $24 million last year.
The printing giant reported consolidated revenue of 1.55 billion for the quarter ended March 31, , up from $1.54 billion last year.
“Our first quarter performance demonstrates that the actions we began last year to reduce our cost base are producing improved results for our shareholders. Still we can and must do better,” said Pierre Karl Peladeau, CEO of he Montreal-based company. “As a result, we remain dedicated to further reducing costs and improving efficiencies across our global platform.”
Grey Global Posts First Quarter Increases Grey Global Group Inc. reported net income of $6.3 million for the first quarter, up from $5.1 million last year.
The advertising giant reported revenue of $343.9 million, up 15.5% from $297.7 million last year.
The New York-based firm attributed its revenue growth to improvement in its international operations reflecting, in part, the impact of a weaker dollar.
