PA Sues Cataloger Over Alleged Illegal Practices

The Pennsylvania Attorney General has accused cataloger Taylor Gifts Inc. of failing to deliver the products it sold, shipping incorrect items and delivering them well beyond the time period allowed by law.

Attorney General Jerry Pappert filed a seven-count civil lawsuit against the Paoli, PA firm after receiving more than 80 complaints about the company’s practices.

The company, which also does business as Kitchen & Much More and Get Organized, violated Pennsylvania’s Unfair Trade Practices and Consumer Protection Law, Fictitious Names Act and the Federal Trade Commission’s Mail Order Rule, according to the complaint.

The lawsuit asks that Taylor be required to:

*Cease operating in violation of Pennsylvania’s Consumer Protection Law, Fictitious Names Act and federal mail order rule.

*Pay full restitution to consumers.

*Forfeit all profits derived from the alleged illegal business practices.

*Pay civil penalties of $1,000 per violation and $3,000 for each violation involving a consumer age 60 or older.

*Pay the costs of investigation and prosecution.
