Online Ad Revenue Tops $2 Billion in Quarter

Online advertising revenue in the U.S. totaled $2.2 billion for the quarter ended Dec. 31, a 38% increase over the same period last year, according to the Interactive Advertising Bureau.

Revenue for the year 2003 is expected to reach $7.2 billion, compared with $6 billion last year.

“I’m not at all surprised at these revenue numbers,” said IAB president/CEO Greg Stuart in a statement. “Our medium is such that we should expect this positive performance.”
