Okafor Signs With Cable Network

National College Basketball Player of the Year Emeka Okafor has signed a multi-year marketing and promotional agreement with College Sports Television, an independent cable network, which marks the first time CSTV has entered into a formal marketing partnership with an athlete.

Okafor will be an on-air and off-air spokesman for College Sports TV, which claims to be the first 24-hour college sports network, and CollegeSports.com, a Web site for college sports for news, scores, information and analysis.

“Emeka epitomizes the true student-athlete, a person who tirelessly pursues success in the classroom as well as on the playing field,” said Brian Bedol, president and CEO, CSTV, in a statement. “We look forward to working with Emeka to promote our shared ideals, celebrating student-athletes’ academic, athletic and community accomplishments. He is the ideal spokesman for CSTV and CollegeSports.com.”

Okafor, who is represented by Excel Sports Management, will graduate from the University of Connecticut on Sunday with a 3.GPA and a degree in Finance. He will have graduated in just three years.
