Shelly Lazarus, chairman and CEO of Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide, New York, has been nominated to serve as chairman of the American Association of Advertising Agencies Board of Directors for the 1999/2000 year. Lazarus is currently vice chairman of the board, and has served on it in a variety of capacities since 1994.
Likely to replace Lazarus as vice chair is nominee Phil Dusenberry, chairman of BBDO New York. Dusenberry has served on the AAAA board in various capacities since 1989.
Potentially joining Lazarus and Dusenberry on the board in 1999/2000 are secretary-treasurer John Emmerling, chairman and CEO of Emmerling Post Inc. New York; and directors-at-large John HJ. Dooner, chairman and CEO of McCann-Erickson WorldGroup and McCann Erickson Worldwide Advertising, New York; Roger A. Haupt, vice chairman of Leo Burnett Company Inc., Chicago; and Bob Kuperman, president and CEO of TBWA/Chiat/Day, Los Angeles. The three join six other directors-at-large whose terms are not yet up.
Another Ogilvy executive, David Brown, has joined the Chicago office of OgilvyOne as managing director. Brown was previously managing director of OgilvyOne Los Angeles.
