Nickelodeon Hires VH1’s Freeman for Promotion Marketing

Kids’ network Nickelodeon has hired VH1 veteran Brenda Freeman as senior VP-promotions marketing. The position was effective Jan. 8.

In her new role, Freeman oversees development and execution of all promotions and marketing efforts for Nickelodeon and related brands, Nick Jr., Noggin, The N, and Nick Digital assets, including on- and off-air promotions, client services, ad sales marketing, online promotions and events.

Freeman reports to Pam Kaufman, executive VP-Nickelodeon marketing and worldwide partnerships.

Before joining Nickelodeon, Freeman worked as VP-consumer marketing for VH1, where she oversaw off-channel marketing for the company, as well as the network’s online marketing and digital networks, including VH1 Classic and VH1 Soul. During her tenure at VH1, Freeman managed brand-building campaigns with companies including Starbucks, SWATCH, American Airlines, the NBA and the NFL.

Prior to VH1, Freeman worked as VP-affiliate marketing, entertainment group for MTV Networks, where she implemented marketing strategies in brand promotion, distribution support and local ads sales for Spike TV, Nickelodeon, Noggin, Nick GAS, NickToons, Nick at Nite and TV Land.
