WALGREENS: Deerfield, IL, will take part in a 2.5 million direct-mail campaign targeting Hispanic consumers. Walgreens will be part of the August/September co-op mailing of Carmen’s Cupones y Consejos (“Carmen’s Coupons, Tips and Advice”). Walgreens tested Carmen’s mailings earlier this year. Aliso Viejo, CA-based Walters Media Group launched Carmen’s in November 2002.
EPRIZE: Farmington Hills, MI, promoted Josh Glantz to VP-managing director of its New York City office. Glantz had been a principal at BRM Capital Management before joining ePrize in November 2002.
ARENA FOOTBALL LEAGUE: has named New Orleans VooDoo director of marketing and special events Rita Benson LeBlanc as Executive of the Year. LeBlanc has been central to defining the brand and creating the image for the franchise’s highly-successful inaugural season with an 11-5 record.
YANNI MANAGEMENT: is reaching out to the affluent female demographic aged 25-55 by way of a partnership with TSE Sports and Entertainment for the musician’s first marketing and sponsorship exploration. TSE will be the exclusive contact for all campaigns taking place during a 60-city tour and will offer various sponsorship packages ranging from presence marketing to special TV and media exposure through Yanni’s PBS TV Special and live concert DVD. The tour runs Nov. 1-Mar. 5.
MARQUIS JET: has appeared in yet another reality show. After enjoying four appearances on NBC’s The Apprentice, the luxury jet appeared in Last Comic Standing last week. Marquis Jet provided a flight to the Aspen Comedy Festival to the winner of one of the show’s contests. Similar to Marquis Jet’s deal with The Apprentice, the company did not pay for product placement.
