MCDONALD’S: has partnered with Internet provider NetZero to make a special service offer to its customers nationwide. From Sept. 3 through Oct. 31, customers can sign up for NetZero Internet service through an 800 number or Web address and receive their first month of service free. NetZero will then make a donation to Ronald McDonald House Charities for each new customer that signs up. The promotion will be featured on millions of McD’s bags, tray liners and posters at approximately 13,000 U.S. restaurants from Sept. 3-19. The offer will also be included in the Ronald McDonald House Charities FSI program in 60 million newspapers across the country Sept. 19.
DISNEY: is celebrating the release of The Lion King 2: Simba’s Pride on DVD with a mall tour throughout the Northeast. The tour will consist of 25-foot tall inflatable characters Pumbaa and Timon. The tour kicks off at the St. Charles Towne Center in Waldorf, MD and wraps up at the Square One Mall in Boston.
DREAMWORKS: subsidiary Go Fish Pictures has selected Anime Network as the platform for its fall television advertising campaign for the animated film Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence. The studio’s ad commitment encompasses Anime Network’s 24-hour cable channel as well as the network’s video-on-demand service and will include the airing of the full 75-second trailer for the new film.
