DREAMWORKS SKG: has named Rick Sands as the company’s new president and COO. Sands formerly served as COO for Miramax Films. He joined Miramax in 1990 as the executive VP and CFO and was played an instrumental part in the negotiations that brought Miramax to Disney. In his new role, Sands will oversee the management of day-to-day operations of DreamWorks and report to David Geffen.
CALIFORNIA GROCERS: Vons and Pavilions this week begins selling tickets to Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure, a first for the theme parks. The Southern California 2Fer Ticket includes admission to both parks over two days, and targets local residents. Tickets are good through April 28.
