PANASONIC CANADA: has reached a deal with Clear Channel Entertainment to put its name on a theatre Clear Channel Entertainment is refurbishing in Toronto. The Panasonic Theatre is on the site of the former New Yorker Theatre, and is scheduled to reopen in June with a performance by Blue Man Group. The deal was brokered by Wakeham & Associates Marketing, Toronto.
EXXONMOBIL FUELS MARKETING: has extended its sponsorship of Houston-based National Hot Rod Association drag racer Larry Rose through the 2007 season. Rose drives the “On the Run/Speedpass” Pontiac Firebird in the Super Comp category and the “On the Run/Speedpass” Oldsmobile Cutlass in E.T. competition in NHRA sanctioned events. He has won more than 200 races since he began his racing career in 1986.
HILTON HOTELS CORP.: has extended its sponsorship of the U.S. Olympic Team, through the 2008 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing, China. The sponsorship includes the 2006/2008 U.S. Paralympic Teams and the 2007 U.S. Pan American Games Team. Financial terms were not disclosed.
BURGER KING CORP.: has appointed Edna Boone Johnson as the company’s senior vice president, global communications. In her new role, Johnson will oversee domestic and international corporate communication functions, including media relations, internal communications and community relations. Johnson will report to Greg Brenneman, the CEO of Burger King Corp. Prior to joining Burger King Corp., Johnson served vice president of public relations for The CNN News Group.
