FORD MOTOR CO.: began offering car-buyers zero-percent financing for up to six years on its 2006 model year Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles yesterday, according to The Associated Press. Consumers won’t receive discounts, cash-incentives or rebates to go with the incentive offer, but can choose a cash incentive in lieu of the financing option. The incentive offering runs through Labor Day, The Associated Press said.

EMPIRE RACING: has signed Eric Mower and Associates, as well as Young & Rubicam Brands, to support its bid to operate New York State’s thoroughbred racetracks at Saratoga Race Course, Belmont Park and Aqueduct Race Track. The firms will be responsible for advertising, marketing, promotions and public relations should Empire Racing win the state’s racing franchise. EMA served as marketing, promotions and p.r. agency for the New York Racing Association in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
