New Agency Puts Ads on Betting Receipts

Blaze Media, Water Mill, NY, puts four-color ads on betting receipts issued at racetracks and betting parlors across the country.

The ads target a predominantly male audience as more than 90% of consumers who visit betting parlors and more than 60% of those who bet live at the track are men, the agency said. Blaze Media is a division of Mangia Media, also based in Water Mill.

The ticket is about 2 1/2 by 3 inches in size, with the wager printed on one side and the ad printed on the other.

The company said it is currently in negotiations with a couple of clients to launch the first series of ads. It said that any type of ads, including sweepstakes, instant-win games, coupons and other promotions could be imprinted.

“Whatever can fit in that space, you can put on it,” said Maryann O’Connor, director of Blaze Media.
