DMA Introduces New List Suppression Services
The Direct Marketing Association has introduced two new data suppression services to remove deceased persons and prisoners from lists. These services are available on a subscription basis from Stamford, CT-based Interactive Marketing Solutions.
More than 4.6 million people who died within last 12 months are identified on the Recently Recorded Deceased File (RRDF). Monthly hotline counts are projected to run 300,000 names.
The RRDF service includes data from the DMA’s Deceased Do Not Contact list. Data sources for the new RRDF service include public records. The DMA’s Deceased Do Not Contact list is comprised of opt-out requests submitted by friends and family of the deceased person.
The DMA’s new State and Federal Prison file contains roughly 2,000 addresses of state and federal prisons, for companies to remove the names and addresses of prisoners from lists.
Subscribers will have access to the RRDF and prison monthly hotlines for 45 days. Service bureaus cannot use these services to scrub customer lists unless the list owner also has a RRDF subscription.
