Connie LaMotta, Direct Marketing Association senior vice president of public relations/communications has resigned from the association to launch new public relations/communications venture.
Her new firm, LaMotta Strategic Communications, New York, will assist companies dealing with regulatory and image protection issues such as privacy. The firm will also consult on crisis intervention issues.
LaMotta launched the New York-based association’s consumer image campaign Shop-At-Home Information Center in 1989 and a consumer Web site (www.shopthenet.org) in 1998, in addition to managing all communication for the DMA.
“Connie has the drive, focus and strategic vision which will be an asset in launching her new venture,” H. Robert Wientzen, DMA president and CEO, said. “All of us at the DMA wish her well.”
