The Los Angeles Times and Garden State Newspapers Inc., have jointly acquired California Independent Postal System (CIPS), a provider of alternative distribution services for advertising preprint.
Acquiring CIPS will enable The Times and LANG to offer weekend delivery to major retail preprint advertisers of in-paper insertions and unduplicated door-to-door and direct mail distribution in a given ZIP code in Southern California.
“We are excited to be participating in this new program,” said Robert A. Ling, chief operating officer of CIPS, in a statement. “The combination of in-paper inserts, direct mail and direct-to-door delivery makes for a very comprehensive ad buy.”
LANG, parent company of the Los Angeles Newspaper Group, publishes the Los Angeles Daily News, the Long Beach Press Telegram, the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, the Pasadena Star news and the Whittier Daily News.
