HBO Sports is producing a series of events in New York City to promote its upcoming heavyweight championship boxing match between Wladimir Klitschko and Calvin Brock, which airs on the network this month.
On Nov. 7, an “open workout” inside New York’s Grand Central Terminal will feature a 16-by-16 foot Everlast boxing ring inside Metrazur restaurant where Klitschko, Brock, and women’s boxing champion Laila Ali (daughter of Muhammed Ali) will participate in a boxing exhibition. Trainers will offer instructions on how to use the punching bag, speed bag, jump rope, and how to spar. The boxing bout airs Nov. 11 on the cable network.
Branded premiums, including 200 T-shirts, 2,000 key chains, 12,500 postcards, will be distributed at the event, as well as at local gyms and on the streets of New York City. The premiums promote Klitschko’s heavyweight championship belts, which are being displayed on a tour in18 bars in the New York area over the weekend and today.
