Hasbro Gives Rewards in Exchange for Purchases

Hasbro is driving sales of its toys and games with a limited-time promotion designed to reward customers for their purchases.

People who buy products from one of 26 Hasbro brands, including Battleship, Candy Land, Clue, Littlest Pet Shop, Nerf, Operation, Scrabble and Connect 4 through March 23 will receive up to $50 back in rewards toward future purchases. Rewards are earned based on a sliding scale on the amount customers spend.

For example, people who spend $15 to $18 will receive a certificate for $5; those who spend $76 to $100 will earn a $25 certificate. To participate, people download a mail-in certificate at http:///www.Hasbro.com.

The company launched the promotion as a way to boost sales during a typically slow buying period for the toy industry, Kathleen Seguin, director of promotions for Hasbro, Inc., said.

It’s the company’s first program that combines toys and games. Last fall, Hasbro Games offered a holiday program that gave customers a Hasbro Visa pre-paid card as an incentive for buying board games, Seguin said.

Hasbro is dropping an FSI to promote the offer on Feb. 10 and March 9. It’s also adding stickers to about 100,000 games highlighting the incentive. In-store P-O-P, TV spots and online marketing also support the program.

Alcone Marketing Group is managing the campaign; Young America handles fulfillment; the Properties Group is the vendor for Hasbro Play Rewards Certificates and Uproar oversees the TV creative.
